Free Training Events delivered by our 42nd Street Team in partnership with Making Manchester Fairer

42nd Street has partnered with the Making Manchester Fairer scheme, to deliver training to youth workers and people working with young people across Manchester throughout July-October.

The training is for people working in Manchester to support young people ages 13-25 with their mental health and emotional wellbeing, with a trauma-informed lens to help reduce inequalities throughout Manchester.

As part of the scheme, we will deliver two trainings:

-Online training that explores ways to support young people online. The training will be delivered on 42nd Street's online platform and will include managing safeguarding concerns when working online with young people.

Accessing support in an online space is a growing preferred option for young people; during lockdown many of us were required to adapt by moving our work online. Through this, we have learned that supporting young people online requires additional skills and considerations. We've also learned that young people are more likely to engage with support delivered online due to the perceived anonymity and flexibility.

-Creative Training to understand how to use creative approaches with a trauma trauma-informed lens, how creativity and mental health overlap, how to facilitate the creative process
and how to encourage the use of creativity as a form of communication.
