About Manchester Science Festival -
Manchester Science Festival is a biennial event produced by the Science and Industry Museum. The festival promises 10 days of scientific celebration, hands-on exploration, family fun and after-hours events.
Highlights include:
- Dive inside the human brain and discover how smartphones, apps and media technologies impact our lives, as you journey through new immersive experience, State of Mind, designed and developed by pioneering light, sound and technology artists, Squidsoup.
- Join computer scientist, Dr Anne-Marie Imafidon, and the UK Space Agency's Head of Space Exploration, Libby Jackson, as they kick start the festival with a guest curated weekend of adult-only evening events.
- Be terrified and enchanted by artist Tim Davies' Arachnobot, a world-first giant spider puppet, as it wanders Manchester Arndale ahead of Halloween in the City.
- Get hands-on with the extremes of space, strength and sports in activity zones packed full of interactive activities for all ages.
- Enjoy a diverse range of co-produced events and showcases developed as part of our City Sparks community partnership programme.
- Plus, unravel the elusive relationship between the brain and body as the findings of a major international online study, delivered in collaboration with researchers at Western University, Canada, are revealed as part of the Festival programme.
