Q42 is being created by LGBTQ+ young people for LGBTQ+ young people, to grow online and offline friendships, explore and develop creative ideas and to challenge any isolation and loneliness felt within our community.
We are working with leading artists and movers and shakers from the creative media sector to co-design and produce a new digital platform to connect people and build an innovative online network.
We run a weekly group here at 42nd Street for anyone identifying as LGBTQ+ from 13-18 years old.
As well as being a social space, the group does a number of creative projects and activities, has trips and film screenings and works with other Manchester based organizations (including BBC, Gaydio and Royal Exchange Theatre).
These activities will help to build our own website designed to support LGBTQ+ young people across the whole of Greater Manchester (see below for more info!)
If you’d like to get involved you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 0161 228 7321 and we’ll give you all the info you need!
“This has given me the opportunity to meet more people and socialise!”
“I’ve made loads of new friends”
“I felt I was hiding my sexuality but now I’m happy with who I am”
Our project is aimed at building a website and getting as many young people involved as possible across the whole of Greater Manchester – especially if you’re not able to make it down to our weekly groups.
Our site is under construction as we speak and we’re looking for people who would like to help create content, from blogging to photography to artists and film makers – if you’ve got an interest in creating a website for other LGBTQ+ young people across Greater Manchester then get in touch at email@example.com.
